During the Post-Exile period in which the previous couple prophets wrote, God was still active among His people.
But as they drifted away from Him and into old violations, God again pulled Himself away from them.
With the last prophet, Malachi, we transition from that Post-Exile period of God’s activity into the Inter-Testament period of God’s silence.
But before going silent, God offers one more chance.
